Scale Accumulation:

  • In regions with hard water, consider installing an in-line scale inhibitor.
  • Reducing the stored water temperature helps mitigate scale formation.
  • A noticeable decrease in the recovery rate could signal scaling issues. In such instances, follow the recommendations of a reputable Water Treatment Company.

General Issues:

  • No Water Flow at the Tap: Ensure the mains water supply is activated. Check the line strainer for blockages and confirm proper water flow direction with the combination valve.
  • Cold Water at the Tap: Confirm the boiler is operational and switched ON. Check for airlocks in the primary system. For further troubleshooting: i. Inspect the cylinder thermostat ii. Reset the thermal cut-out (if necessary) iii. Assess the motorised valve functionality iv. Verify the boiler thermostat and, if applicable, the boiler thermostat cut-out
  • Never bypass any energy cut-outs under any circumstances.
  • If heating units aren't functioning and the heat source is electric, isolate immersion heaters from the mains before resetting the energy cut-out. Contact us for replacement immersion heaters if needed.

Relief Valve Discharge:

  • If the expansion relief valve discharges cold water, check the cold pressure on the expansion vessel and recharge if required.
  • If the issue persists despite attempts to ease control, inspect the Pressure Reducing Valve or the Relief Valve. Replace faulty components with Gledhill approved replacements.

Commissioning:

  • Adhere to the commissioning procedure for draining down.
  • In cases of overheating fault with hot water discharge, deactivate the heat source while maintaining the water supply.
  • After the system cools down, assess thermostats and energy cut-outs in the boiler and immersion heaters. Replace any faulty components with units provided by Gledhill, ensuring proper functionality before returning the system to full operation.

Addressing these common issues promptly is crucial to ensuring the effective and safe functioning of the Gledhill StainlessLite Horizontal system. Qualified engineers should diagnose and resolve any issues following the manufacturer's guidelines and recommendations diligently.
